The village of Shanevo is situated almost on the island. You can not get there using a road. The roads leading you to Shanevo are dirty and impassable. You can easily get stuck in marshy lands on both sides... Only very strong horse can make in through. The only way to get to Shanevo in Spring or Fall is going by boat across the lake. That is why Shanevo reminds me of an Island.

about the artist
Anatoly was born in Leningrad, Russia. He graduated from the Repin Institute (Academy of Arts) , where he also earned a Doctor of Arts Degree in 1996. His creations have been exibited in St'Petersburg, Moscow, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Belgium and USA. Collectors from all over Europe have discovered his work

Anatoly Kudravcev's work has been exibited by the Artist's Union in St'Petersburg, Russia in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1995 and in Moscow, Russia in 1981, 1983 and 1986. His personal exhibitions have taken place in St'Petersburg, Russia in 1979, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1992, 1998, 2001; in Tula, Russia in 1993; in Berlin in 1989, 1991; in Budapest, Bulgaria in 1994, USA in 2003, 2004, 2005
Kudravcev 's favorite mediums are: Indian ink, pastels, tempera, and gouache
