about the artist
Originally from Washington, North Carolina, I now live in Portland, Oregon. I have been painting for over ten years, and began selling my original, contemporary art online in 2007. My painting style is contemporary abstract, and I create by blending and layering using different techniques and painting methods.
Color is not something that I am afraid of, and I notice the magic and beauty of color everywhere, often in unanticipated places - from the surface of a body of water to the rustic, industrial warehouse floor of a manufacturing facility. I am greatly inspired by the recurring shapes, colors and patterns found in nature.
Another factor that I take into consideration when creating art is light. It has such a profound visual effect on everything, and I try to infuse light into every painting, and to consider how different types of lighting will affect the painting.
Each painting is original, authentic and personally signed. After creation, I apply a clear acrylic, UV resistant, gloss varnish to protect the quality of the painting, add a touch of shine, and to safeguard your investment.
