about the piece
With the help of my friend, graphic designer Mark Hoffman, I blurred this image out and used it as the background for my 2005 poetry chapbook cover. The chapbook is entitled "healer's edge," hence the photo name. This is actually leaves in a stream in Italianos Canyon, Taos Ski Valley, Taos, NM. I wanted a water and watery-primary-colors look for the chapbook, water & green & fire....the fall leaves provide that intense spectrum held by the water. This has been a favorite among friends and the water here is very much alive.
